LBX Interview The Utility Expo 2025
The Utility Expo floor was buzzing as LBX Company unveiled its latest mid-size powerhouse... the 145 X4S. Standing proudly against the show backdrop, this machine represents a new level of operator-focused innovation from LBX, combining advanced technology, refined design, and real-world usability.
Smarter, Safer, and More Capable
According to Tyler Garrity of Link-Belt Excavators, the new 145 X4S introduces several standout features designed to enhance performance and safety. Among them are a payload system, a height and depth alarm, and a digital level these are technologies typically reserved for larger machines.
These intelligent systems allow operators to maintain greater control over precision operations and reduce the risk of overloading or misjudging ground conditions. It’s a deliberate move toward making smart machine technology standard across Link-Belt’s lineup.
A New Operator Experience
Inside the cab, the 145 X4S offers a completely redesigned operator environment. The centerpiece is a 10-inch display monitor that provides intuitive access to machine data and control settings. Gity emphasized the importance of comfort and usability, noting the cab’s roomier layout and cleaner interface.
One of the most operator-friendly updates is the custom flow balance system. Through the onboard monitor, users can prioritize functions such as arm in, boom up, and swing depending on the task. The system’s two-page interface allows for quick customization and smooth operation... a feature that will resonate with both seasoned operators and those new to Link-Belt equipment.
Looking Ahead: The Pink Belt Returns
While the Pink Belt Excavator was not part of this year’s The Utility Expo lineup, it remains a fan favorite and will make its return at CONEXPO-CON/AGG. As before, the Pink Belt will be auctioned to support Yes Ma’am and the @National Breast Cancer Foundation a meaningful tradition that continues to connect the heavy equipment industry with an important cause.
